Thanks to Rachel Russell for allowing us to scan these photographs, which were given by to her by the previous owner of her current house in Moyser Road.

  1. I was fascinated to view these images. It seems Furzedown was quite badly hit during the Blitz by all accounts. Many thanks for sharing your images Rachel.

    I'm intrigued to know whether numbers 39 & 41 Thrale road were destroyed during the war. Does anybody out there know?

    Burney house was built in 1957/8 where these two houses would have been, but there's no mention of them in my property deeds/history.

    There must have been houses there at some point but they could have been pulled down earlier perhaps? I seem to remember reading a planning application going back to 1922.

    Bit of a mystery that I'd love to solve.

  2. I lived in 98 Moyser up to 1981. The gentleman I bought it from was born in the house in 1914. he told me that 14 bombs dropped within a 1/4 of a mile of the house.
